Tributes to Upper Coomera State College student Jayden Fuller after freak accident claims life

Heartfelt tributes are being paid to an Upper Coomera State College student killed in a freak accident on Wednesday.

Jayden Fuller was a student at Upper Coomera State College.

HEARTFELT tributes are being paid to a 16-year-old Upper Coomera boy who lost his life in a workplace accident.

Jayden Fuller is being described as an “amazing”, “incredibly funny” young man, who always made his mum and sister laugh.

Jayden was described as having an incredible sense of humour.

The Upper Coomera State College student died when he was struck by a roller when working on a driveway at an Alberton property on Wednesday afternoon.

Queensland Ambulance crews attended the scene, but sadly Jayden could not be saved.

The accident has devastated his mum Laura, twin sister Emily and his father Michael.

“It was just an awful accident,” family friend Kelly Swasbrook said.

“He was so excited (to start work). That was exactly what he wanted to do.”

Ms Swasbrook said Jayden was renowned for his great sense of humour.

“He was an incredibly funny class clown, and just the life of the party,” she said.

“Even when they went off on holidays he was always doing funny things, making his sister and mum laugh.

“He was just that fun, bubbly guy.”

Jayden had been excited to start work.

The tragedy has prompted an outpouring of grief and support at Jayden’s school.

Students have been writing chalk messages on the ground in tribute, while money has been raised for flowers.

There has also been an outpouring of support for the family on social media, while a GoFundMe page has been set up to help them with funeral costs.

Friends of the family are also seeking to organise a Haka in Jayden’s honour.

Jayden’s mum Laura also had to cope with the loss of her own mother last December, and Ms Swasbrook said she had been “numb” since news of Jayden’s passing.

“He never failed to put a smile on anyone’s face,” Ms Swasbrook said. “He loved his gaming, and was just starting his working life.”
