An ocean-view Currumbin restaurant has proved so popular it’s expanded in its first year of operation.
Tommy’s Italian co-owner Ronnie Tarabay said because business was “pumping” they had to extend their trading to another venue close by to keep up with takeaway demands.
The new restaurant is called Little Tommy’s Italian.
“It’s more casual dining and predominantly created for takeaway,” Mr Tarabay said.
He said himself and co-owner Tom Torchut decided to create Tommy’s Italian because Currumbin had “no good restaurants”.
“I will never open a restaurant on the Gold Coast unless it has a beach view,” Mr Tarabay said.
While Tommy’s Italian has a wide range of options on its menu, he said the prawn fettuccine with garlic and chilli was one of the restaurant’s most popular dishes.
Alongside an 850g rib eye steak for $110, Mr Tarabay said their pizzas and classic margaritas were local favourites.
Tommy’s Italian is one of 12 hand-picked local operators offering Gold Coasters the gift of experience this festive season.
