The owners of a new lounge bar and restaurant featuring pork belly, tuna tartare and salmon gravlax say the venue has undergone five-weeks of intensive reconstruction.
Paradise Point’s The Lounge owners Darius Pavri and Howard Wright said the venue, which is located on the foreshore with a parkland and water view, would offer a “quality dining experience coupled with an exotic and diverse selection of drinks and cocktails”.
Mr Pavri said they thought of the idea of the restaurant in March, which kick-started five-months of planning, design and construction.
“The vision has been to create a modern-chic venue, warm and friendly in character and socially inviting to all clientele and their families,” he said.
The duo announced in July they had bought and transformed the former venue, The Local, in May and residents were amazed at the change.
“Looks fantastic guys. Can’t wait to check it out,” Kendal Reekie commented on The Lounge’s Facebook post.
They said after the most recent five weeks of intensive demolition and reconstruction they were excited to hold their grand opening on August 17.
Mr Wright said they were opening with a five-day schedule but hoped to expand to seven-days-a-week in summer.
“Our chefs have created a diverse range of handcrafted meals, sourcing local and fresh ingredients cooked in house while our mixologists have fashioned a unique cocktail list,” he said.
The menu included, pork belly, squid, scallops, bruschetta, tuna taste, salmon gravlax, burrata and beef carpaccio all for $25.
Mr Wright said the venue was able to seat up to 100 people with 50 seats inside and 50 seats outside.
