SURFERS Paradise MP John-Paul Langbroek has been named deputy leader of the Queensland Liberal National Party.

Party members held a leaderships ballot in Brisbane this morning, electing Lawrence Springborg as leader as counting for the State Election entered its seventh day.

It is a role reversal for the pair from 2011, when Mr Springborg was deputy to Mr Langbroek as former Campbell Newman made his bid for Premier after stepping down as Brisbane Lord Mayor.

The Labor Party remains slightly in front of the LNP in the ballot, however, there are still six seats in doubt.
