A TEENAGER is on a mission to deliver the ultimutt dog lover’s dream – the first french bulldog cafe on the Gold Coast.
Elijah Gollan, 13, is calling for community help to make his business idea pawssible.
Of Biggera Waters, he created a GoFundMe page to start up the cafe. It would feature a doggie bathroom, furniture, a play area and a cocowhip machine.
Similar to cat cafes, Elijah wanted to create a space where people could relax and sip on a coffee while petting and playing with some adorable pups.
“Everywhere in Japan they have different cafes for hedgehogs and cats – so I wanted to make one for frenchies,” he said.
“I want to buy a shop in Mermaid Beach then renovate it so it’d be a cafe.”
The young go-getter has a french bulldog named Ella and adores the breed because of their “cute, squishy faces”.
Although mum Melissa Gollan wasn’t initially aware of her son’s online fundraiser, she supported his dream.
“He’s always got a few little business ideas on the go. He collects and resells coins and does a lot of cooking and cake making.”
Too young to run his own business, Mrs Gollan said it was a project Elijah could work towards for the future.
The family plans to donate any funds raised to animal welfare charities if the cafe doesn’t go ahead.
