The victim of a horror fatal e-bike crash on the southern Gold Coast has been identified as the community rallies around his family.
The victim of a horror fatal e-bike crash on the southern Gold Coast has been identified as 17-year-old Hudson Gagg.
Emergency services were called to the distressing scene in Tallebudgera about 4pm on Monday.
Gold Coast police said a Mitsubishi Outlander was driving east on Tallebudgera Creek Rd when it collided with an e-bike at the intersection of Fenton Drive.
Hudson, from Tallebudgera, suffered life-threatening injuries and sadly died at the scene.
His pillion passenger, a 17-year-old Tallebudgera boy, suffered leg and facial injuries and was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
The Mitsubishi driver, a 65-year-old Robina man, was treated for shock and emotional distress and also taken to hospital.
Family and friends were at the scene on Tuesday morning.
Tiff Wood said her daughter witnessed the aftermath of the collision.
“She has come home in shock after what she saw,” she wrote on Facebook.
“(My) thoughts are with everyone there at the time and the friend who was also on the e-bike.
“Rest in peace young man.”
Kerrie Cox described the incident as “tragedy”.
“I’m sorry for both families – this is such a tragedy,” she commented on Facebook.
“I hope the young person in hospital will be ok.
“It’s a long journey back to health.”
Many locals wrote on social media they were praying for and thinking about his family during this difficult time.
“Rest easy mate. Sending love to those involved and the family navigating their new reality,” one person wrote on Instagram.
“So incredibly sad, a precious life cut short way too early,” another commented.
Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit are continuing to investigate the collision.
