Tallebudgera crash investigated after one driver fleas

CHARGES are yet to be laid after a driver allegedly fled police before crashing in the Gold Coast Hinterland on Friday night.
About 8.45pm police observed a vehicle travelling at speed heading south on Tallebudgera Connection Rd.
Officers activated lights and sirens, but the car continued at excessive speed and police did not pursue.
Further along Tallebudgera Connection Rd the car crossed to the wrong side of the road and collided with another car travelling north.
The car of interest then continued travelling south before leaving the road and hitting a tree.
A 23-year-old Currumbin Waters man is assisting police with inquiries.
The driver of the other vehicle received minor injuries.
Investigations are continuing and will be overviewed by the Ethical Standards Command.
Officers are on scene after one driver allegedly fled after the crash.
No injuries were sustained in the crash.
