A BUSY Burleigh brunch spot has relocated to a serene suburban haven before the light rail destroys it.

Stones Throw cafe has opened a “bigger and better venue” in Currumbin Valley because southern light rail construction is set to demolish its Gold Coast Highway site this year.

Co-owners Cameron Chartres and Melanie Windsor said the forced closure was “heartbreaking but also a great opportunity”.

“We are really mad,” Mr Chartres said. “There has been no communication or compensation.

“But we are excited and our new venue is a hit.”
