A new two-storey restaurant boasting more than 2000 wines and 'world-class seafood' has opened for reservations.
Broadbeach’s Moo Moo owners Steven and Autumn Adams said they were transforming the vacant space where The Bavarian used to trade.
On September 21, Mrs Adams announced they were opening up reservations for their restaurant which will open on November 24.
Customers are now able to reserve tables in their 'Ripple Room' which was made as a 24-seater private dining room with exclusive mezzanine dining where Mrs Adams said "you can watch and enjoy the wonders of the restaurant beneath".
"Steven and I are overwhelmed by the excitement and support we have already been shown and cannot wait to unveil this project," Mrs Adams said.
The Bavarian in Broadbeach closed at the end August, making it the second venue closure on the Coast due to a review on whether the locations were beneficial for them.
A Pacific Concepts spokesman said they had no immediate plans to close The Bavarian in Coomera.
Mr Adams said they had been looking to open up a second venue for “quite a while” but jumped at the opportunity when a neighbouring venue popped up.
“We were absolutely thrilled as it’s so close to Moo Moo and it’s the biggest restaurant space in the precinct,” he said.
“We looked at many other options, but nothing felt right until this space became available.”
Mr Adams assured patrons the new venue would contrast with Moo Moo and would be branded as BLOWFISH Ocean Grill and Bar.
“We hope like Moo Moo, it will become a renowned and must-visit Gold Coast destination,” he said.
Mr Adams said they took over the location from September 4 and started renovations as soon as possible.
He said they were still planning the menu but their aim was to “procure the freshest and most sustainable seafood to create exceptional dishes that pay homage to the sea’s diversity”.
“Our innovative menu will push the boundaries and be completely different to what people have been seeing at seafood restaurants in the past,” Mr Adams said.
He said they would feature a small selection of steaks which are also available at their Moo Moo restaurant.
“There will be an extensive wine selection with over 2000 wines to complement and enhance the flavours of our dishes,” Mr Adams said.
BLOWFISH Ocean Grill and Bar will sit up to 150 people and include a bar area and a private dining room/function area upstairs.
Mr Adams said they plan to open the venue on November 24 at The Oracle Boulevard.
