A popular Gold Coast brewery is opening its doors again after three months of renovations and they say it is ‘the perfect place to unwind after a week’s work’.
The Balter Brewery taproom in Currumbin closed in February for renovations that were only planned to take a month, but will open on Friday, May 6.
The new renovations include new bar areas, increased seating and capacity, beer nooks designed for comfort, a redesigned retail shop, the option for table ordering and more taps.
The main addition is a new beer garden with trees, sky lights, alfresco style seating and heated booths for winter.
Balter’s head of operations Aaron Walters said they dreamt of having a beer garden since opening in 2016.
“We feel that every brewery deserves a beer garden and we finally have ours,” he said.
“As a start-up company in 2016 we didn't have the opportunity to do it at the start.”
“After Covid-19 we had time to reset so we closed our doors and created a space that can accommodate more people,” Mr Waters said.
He said the new areas gave customers the opportunity to have a unique experience.
“You can oversee the whole brewery through one of our new levels,” Mr Waters said.
“People can see a bit of a working brewery.
“For us the new additions are something we wanted to do for the community and give everyone a place to unwind for the week.”
On May 6 and 7, Balter Brewery will have two food trucks, live music and a line-up of the new limited release beers.
