Shocking footage has emerged of the moment citizens pounced on four teenagers after a ute crashes into a parked car at Helensvale.

Police arrested a 17-year-old male following the incident, who is due to face court at a later date.

A police spokeswoman said it will be alleged the 17-year-old learner driver was behind the wheel of a Ford Ranger when it crashed into a camper on Gippsland Dr at 2.30pm Tuesday.

She said the camper then hit a parked MG vehicle.

The driver and three occupants - two 16-year-old males and one 15-year-old male - exited the vehicle after the crash.

Neighbours then performed a citizen’s arrest on the group until police arrived.

Police will allege the driver held a current learner driver’s licence, but did not have appropriate supervision in the vehicle and returned a blood alcohol reading of .087.

Police said the car was not stolen.

The driver’s licence was immediately suspended.
