Second person dies in Gold Coast balcony fall

A second person has died in less than a week after falling from a building on the Gold Coast.

A SECOND person has died in less than a week after falling from a building on the Gold Coast.

Police were called to Southport Central on Garden St about 10.15am following reports of a fall from the high-rise apartment block.

It is unclear how far the person fell.

A police spokeswoman said the incident was not being treated as suspicious.

Police remained at the scene this afternoon.

It is understood police have identified the person, but it is unclear if their next of kin has been notified.

It comes just three days after Victorian schoolie Charlie Scott, 18, plunged to his death from the Hilton Hotel in Surfers Paradise.
