US President Donald Trump is the author of the book The Art of the Deal. Now on the Gold Coast he’s become the topic of a piece of art which you can actually get inside of.

DONALD Trump is making a cameo appearance at the Gold Coast City Council.
This is not fake news. Just check out the sculpture in the Evandale Parklands, just a stroll from the council chambers.
Coffs Harbour is known for its big banana and Byron Bay more recently for its shiny lighthouse erection on the Bayshore Drive roundabout. Why can’t the Goldie trump them this summer?
The Bulletin was alerted to the sculpture by Bundall residents after they stumbled upon it at the regular weekend Farmer’s Markets.
“On so many levels this is inappropriate, no matter if you like him or not,” a resident wrote.
“Just another example of how the once organic Evandale Parklands are being turned into some sort of theme park.

“At the Farmers Markets this morning the reactions from residents to the ‘seat’ ranged from disbelief to anger. Who makes these decisions.”
Called Monument #32 Helter Shelter, the sculpture is by Melbourne artist Callum Morton who has forged an international reputation for creating works which critics say “explore the emotional and social impact of our built environment”.
Of the Trump piece, Morton wrote: “I wanted to pose the question as to whether people were comfortable taking shelter from him, inside this version of hell, but also there’s the literal idea that that’s about all it’s good for.”
With a storm tipped to hit the Coast later today, this larger than life windswept back blond coiffure might provide suitable coverage from the weather.
HOTA on its Facebook page says it is thrilled “by unmistakeable piece of street furniture in the form of an emergent Donald Trump head”. President Trump’s likeness will remain in the park until January 23.
