Katie is a developer and is CEO of Harvey Norman while her husband is the chairman. The pair also own the Gold Coast’s Magic Millions and a bevy of property here.

BEC AND BRETT FRIZELLE

The former chairwoman of the Gold Coast Titans is a director of developer Sunland Group, on the Griffith University Advisory Board and St Hilda’s School Foundation board while Brett is head of the family car sales businesses.

CHELSEA AND MATT GATES

Matt is a top five international real estate agent for Ray White and son of Deputy Mayor Donna Gates, while Chelsea is daughter of real estate mogul Andrew Bell.

The Suns chairman and former Indy boss runs iEC Entertainment with wife and director Thea, an authority on entertainment.

The 25 year old Member for Gaven is the youngest ever female state MP while Bailey is the state Minister for Transport and Main Roads.

Fiona Edwards Bassingthwaite and Andrew Bassingthwaite.

Fashionista Fiona runs Edwards Imports, with her main role at Janine Edwards boutiques while Andrew runs their 10,000 head commercial cattle operation across six central Queensland properties.

Influencer Gabby is paid to travel and earns in the thousands for single social media posts and James is an Olympic and Commonwealth swimmer.

Former model Chloe this year smashed an Ultra-Marathon in Germany to raise money for her charity 4ASD Kids — a 3.86km swim, 180km on the bike and a full marathon — while former international rugby player Mat slogged it out on TV show Survivor.

After winning Channel 7 home renovation show House Rules last year, including a brand new home and $200,000, the couple launched house flipping company Hype Build + Design and have multiple endorsement deals on the go.

JARROD WALLACE AND COURTNEY THORPE

The Titans standout earned his first call up for State of Origin last year and is a Ronald McDonald House ambassador, while wife Courtney Thorpe is former Miss Australia and Channel 7 presenter.

TOM AND RUTH TATE

While Tom is obviously our city’s mayor Ruth raised $315,000 through her Gold Coast Mayoress Charity Foundation, which went to nine local beneficiaries, and has raised $1.3 million since 2013.

POWER COUPLES NO MORE

Tammy Hembrow and Rhys Hawkins

The Insta-famous duo split this year, with no real reason given.

Lauren Brant and Barry Hall

An awkward and frankly disgusting on air “joke” by Hall sent the couple into crisis mode. They remain together, but their reputation is tarnished.

James and Carys Courtney

The professional driver and his wife had a nasty split, where she was then papped with Sophie Monk’s ex Stu Laundy.
