Police are investigating a car crash that left a man in critical condition on the Gold Coast early Saturday morning.

A MAN has been taken to hospital in a critical condition after crashing his car into a pole on the Gold Coast early Saturday morning.
Paramedics, including critical care, were called to the scene of a crash on Pitcairn Way and Universal Street, Pacific Pines about 5am.
The driver of a Mitsubishi Challenger station wagon was taken in a critical condition with a serious head injury to Gold Coast University Hospital.
Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
