A man armed with a machete and knife has been tasered after a dramatic stand-off with police on the Gold Coast.
Police responded to a disturbance at a Robina address around 5.15pm Sunday.
They will allege a man armed with a machete and knife made threats towards a woman at the address.
Police said they attempted to negotiate with the man, who was allegedly violent towards them while armed.
A taser was deployed and the man was taken into custody.
A 34-year-old Inala man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed (domestic violence offence), deprivation of liberty (domestic violence offence), wilful damage (domestic violence offence) and obstruct police officer.
He was due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday
