Police charge Brisbane man after Lamborghini crashed into parked Toyota at Broadbeach Waters on Wednesday night

Police have charged a man with drink driving and seized a Lamborghini supercar after a costly crash on the Gold Coast.

Police have accused a Brisbane man of drink driving and dangerous driving after he crashed a Lamborghini Huracan into a parked Toyota Landcruiser on the Gold Coast.

Emergency services were called to the corner of Rio Vista Boulevard and TE Peters Dr at Broadbeach Waters about 8.30pm on Wednesday.

It’s alleged the 2017 model turquoise coloured supercar was travelling south along Rio Vista Boulevard when the 32-year-old driver “lost control, striking the rear of a parked unoccupied 2021 white Toyota Landcruiser”.

“Broadbeach police patrolling the area witnessed the crash and arrested the man following a positive roadside breath test,” Queensland Police alleged.

Lamborghini Huracans of the same year model can be found for sale online for as much as $600,000.

The man from the Brisbane suburb of Pallara has been charged with one court each of dangerous operation, did drive UIL and fail to display number plates.

His licence was immediately suspended, while the high-powered car has been seized for mechanical inspection.

The man is due to face Southport Magistrates Court at a later date.

Paramedics and firefighters were called after the incident, but were not required.
