A police incident has unfolded in a northern Gold Coast suburb, resulting in multiple streets reportedly being blocked off.

A police spokeswoman said specialist police attended a Pimpama address around 11am Sunday in relation to an arrest warrant.

“Due to operational reasons, no further information is available at this time,” she said.

It is understood the incident occurred in the vicinity of Hollyoak Cres, Pimpama.

Other residents took to social media to report multiple streets being blocked off.

According to some people living on the street, the incident had been going on for much longer – with one saying they were locked down for more than four hours.

One woman told the Bulletin more than 15 police cars had closed off Tierney Way.

The street opens to five other streets including Hollyoak Cres.

“No one was able to come through,” she said.

“They said we could be evacuated and that we needed to stay in our houses – that’s all they gave us.”

The woman said the street was “quiet for about an hour” when authorities first arrived.

“It was like a standby situation – they were just standing there,” she said.

“It went on for a while.”

Other residents said police were often called to the property in question but never “anything like this”.

The Bulletin was told by people living in the street they did not see police remove anyone from the site.

“They didn’t bring anyone out but they were pulling all the cameras down,” one resident who asked not to be named said.

“We heard a young boy from across the road saying all the lights had been pulled out – all the surveillance cameras unscrewed and that the house was trashed.”
