Gold Coast Pacific Airshow day two

The inaugural Pacific Airshow injected more than $25m into the Gold Coast’s economy, with organisers revealing an expanded line-up for 2024 - and new 2024 dates.

The debut event, held in August 2023, sold more than 250,000 tickets and brought tens of thousands of tourists from across Australia and the world to the city.

Airshow director Kevin Elliott said the three-day extravaganza’s program would be expanded.

“We’re building on last year’s smashing success, aiming to make Pacific Airshow Gold Coast an even more breathtaking experience and there’s nothing like being there, on the beach with your family and friends,” he said.

“Prepare for three days of world-class aerobatics and jets, showcasing thunderous power and speed.

“The event promises a mix of heart-pounding excitement and family-friendly entertainment, stretching around 1.5 kilometres of the Surfers Paradise Esplanade.”

The Pacific Airshow will be held this year from August 16-18.

Tickets for the show go on sale on Thursday.

Mayor Tom Tate said the strong economic impact was something the city wanted to build on going forward.

“Strap in, Gold Coast … after the staggering success of its debut last year, the adrenaline-pumping Pacific Airshow Gold Coast is back – bigger and better than before,” he said.

“We had 250,000 people enjoyed the inaugural airshow over our iconic Surfers Paradise beach, injecting $25 million into the local economy.

“This year’s extravaganza promises to be even more spectacular.”

State Tourism Minister Michael Healy said operators recorded 110,000 visitor nights over the week and described it as a “soaring success”.
