THE owner of a popular pool shop on the Gold Coast is warning locals to check up on their swimming holes before warmer temperatures bring the algae in.
Angus Donald, owner of the recently voted Bulletin’s Best of the Gold Coast Pool Shop, Active Pool Supplies – said people tended to ignore their pools over winter months and it would be time to catch up on maintenance.
“When the temperature heats up the pool can go green with algae,” Mr Donald said.
“Our advice would be to bring a sample of water from your pool into us and we will test it in store or send a pool tech out to you,” he said.
Active Pool Supplies has stores in Bundall and Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast.
“We have been on the Gold Coast since 1981 and we have built up a solid and loyal customer base.”
Mr Donald became the owner of Active Pool Supplies in 2005 and said his team had built up partnerships with schools such as Emmanuel College and The Southport School.
“We love swimming pools and love what we do,” he said.
