DEBRIS has been left scattered across a Gold Coast intersection after a stolen Mercedes Benz slammed into another vehicle before fleeing the area.
Gold Coast police were called to the two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Musgrave Ave and Brook Ave at Chirn Park about 5.40am on Monday.
The driver of the Mercedes was reported to be “fleeing the scene” in the aftermath.
“Police have established the Mercedes is a stolen vehicle,” a spokeswoman said.
“The vehicles were blocking the roadway and police are working to clear the crash. “:
The woman driving the vehicle struck by the Mercedes was not injured.
Police were investigating the crash and the theft of the Mercedes later on Monday morning.
A description of the stolen Mercedes could not be immediately provided by police.

Man critical after horror Coast motorcycle crash
October 9: A man was taken to hospital in a critical condition after coming off his motorbike in a horror crash on the Pacific Motorway at Pimpama.
Suffering severe head, chest and limb injuries – he was one of three injured on Gold Coast roads overnight.
Paramedics, including the critical care and high acuity response unit, took the man to Gold Coast University Hospital after being called to the scene at 11.14pm.
In a separate incident, one person was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with leg pain after a vehicle collided with a tree on Gemvale Rd at 11pm.
A teenage girl was also hospitalised following a single-vehicle crash at Old Coach Rd and Coomera Springs Boulevard about 7.30pm
