MORE rain is on the way for the Gold Coast – but storm-battered residents aren’t facing another round of extreme weather this week.

Between 10-25mm will hit the city today due to a cloud band over head, but the Bureau of Meteorology predicts it will be just “patchy showers”.

BOM meteorologist James Thompson said: “There was a slight chance of a storm overnight (on Sunday), and there were heavy showers, but that’s moved away.

“There will be more rain throughout the week but quite a bit less than (Monday).

“We’re stuck in a pattern with winds on and off for most of the week. No sunny skies and the odd shower around.”

Maximum temperatures have also dropped citywide, with the Seaway maxing out at 23C and Coolangatta at just 22C on Monday morning.
