A Gold Coast motorists has captured the moment a shocking road rage incident took place on a Biggera Waters road.
Police have been made aware of the incident that took place on Oxley Dr, Biggera Waters around 3.15pm on Friday afternoon.
A Gold Coast motorist, who has asked to remain anonymous, was driving past Harbour Town shopping centre when he captured the incident on his car’s dash camera.
“The traffic stopped and I saw this guy getting out and then he punched the driver in front of him,” the motorist told the Gold Coast Bulletin.
“He reached through the window and punched [the driver] as the video showed which was a bit shocking … it just seems terrible.”
In the footage, the man can be seen making a praying hands motion to a car behind him before returning to his own car.
“It was really weird and then he just drove away,” the Gold Coast motorist said. “But we just stopped to ask the [other driver] if he was okay and it seemed like he had trouble with his car’s gear stick.”
The motorist also said there may have been a child in the back seat of the other vehicle.
“I am shocked to see that happen to another person but I think the road is just getting really dangerous,” he said. “You see people on the phone, being impatient, speeding and I think we just need to be careful, a bit more patient and kind to each other.”
A Queensland Police spokesman confirmed they were aware of the incident and are encouraging anyone with further information to contact Policelink.
Police have not received a complaint from either of the drivers involved in the incident.
