Melbourne girl Gabriella Bottarelli crowned Miss Supercars 2018 at GC600

IT was a fierce competition to wow not only the judges but the public, but Miss Supercars 2018 finally has her crown. And she says it’s something she’s dreamt about since she was a child.

GABRIELLA Bottarelli is the general manager of a Melbourne medical centre and can now add Miss Supercars 2018 to her CV.

The 28-year-old Victorian beauty with brains took out the coveted title against tough competition on Friday night.

The brunette wasted no time getting into official duties on Saturday and yesterday, walking pit lane, posing with drivers and meeting fans, young and old.

Ms Bottarelli said it was her love of cars that inspired her to enter.

“I’ve done Formula One and I’ve done MotoGP, I have owned a V8 in the past but never actually been to this gig,” she said.

“I dreamt of being a grid girl when I was a kid, it’s an absolute thrill and it’s great that they still have it here, because it really gets women into motorsports.”

Organiser of Miss Supercars, Selina Macdonald from Procon Leisure, said Ms Bottarelli was the “perfect” brand ambassador for the sport.

“We were looking for someone who can hold herself well, be healthy, needs to be able to represent brands and speak well, be intelligent,” she said.

“All the 26 girls have a love and a passion for motorsports, some of them even drive … we have an amazing array of entries this year.

“One of the girls even got engaged on the grid, so a passion for motorsports was a must.”

Ms Bottarelli will now travel to the Newcastle 500 in November, before heading to various events around Australia over the next year.
