Volunteers will cook up 95 chickens, 20 legs of ham and 175kg of potato salad for this year’s free Christmas lunch in Labrador.
In its 15th year, the festive celebration is expected to host more than 800 people on Sunday.
Organised by Susie Longman and her son Cam Christie, the Gold Coast’s biggest Christmas lunch is made possible by dedicated volunteers.

“The day is not reserved for the homeless, or those who can’t afford to put food on the table,” Ms Longman said.
“Our guests cover the entire community; people in hardship, the lonely, isolated, families, and the homeless, both young and old.”
The lunch will be held at Labrador State School from 11am to 2pm.
The elderly and guests with disabilities will enjoy an indoor event at the school hall, while other guests will have a picnic on the sports field with rugs and marquees.
There will be plenty of food, entertainment and gifts for everyone who attends.
