World famous TV personality and English chef, Marco Pierre White, has been spotted dining at one of the Gold Coast’s most sought after Italian restaurants.
The world-renowned Michelin star chef was seen by fellow diners at Sofia’s in Broadbeach on Monday night ahead of his series of events at HOTA later this week.
Sofia’s owner Henry Hunt said it was a “huge compliment” to have the man known as the godfather of modern cooking dine at his restaurant.
“I happened to be there at the time and it was very surreal,” Mr Hunt said.
“Out of all the places on the Gold Coast for him to visit, it was a huge compliment.”
Mr Hunt said staff in the kitchen were “doing something right”, with the rock-star chef a huge fan of the freshly made pasta.
“He liked our beef genovese ragu, he had our wagyu bresaola to start and I think the tiramisu for dessert,” Mr Hunt said.
“The credit goes to the team. Our executive chef has been with us since we opened in 2020 and it’s his menu – so that’s a big compliment to him.”
Marco Pierre White will be hosting five events at HOTA from Thursday through to Saturday.
