Man dies from injuries after being hit on the M1 at Oxenford

A MAN who was hit and critically injured after he reportedly sprinted across multiple lanes of the M1 at Oxenford on Friday has died.

The accident shut down northbound lanes of the M1 between 9.30 and 11am while officers worked on the injured man and assessed the scene.

Paramedics performed CPR on the man for about half an hour before he was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition, with head, chest and abdominal injuries.

The young man, believed to be a tradie, was on life support in the intensive care unit, but sadly died over the weekend.
