M1 Ormeau / Pimpama car fire: Delays after Range Rover goes up in flames

Motorists experienced delays on the M1 southbound from Brisbane on Saturday after a car was engulfed in flames.
Police, ambulance and fire crews responded to the scene between Exits 41 and 44 in the Ormeau/Pimpama area after the car, believed to be a Range Rover, went on fire at about 12.20pm.
Nobody was injured in the incident, with the Queensland Ambulance Service reporting that paramedics were not require to treat any patients, while fire crews were soon able to get the blaze under control.
A police spokesperson said occupants of the car were able to exit their vehicle safely the incident was not being treated as suspicious.
The incident came just two days after a crash on the M1, also in the Pimpama area, saw commuters returning from Brisbane delayed for up to two hours.
