A police hunt is under way after a suspected ram raid at a busy southside shopping centre in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Two vehicles are believed to have been used to smash through a glass wall at Sunnybank Plaza but police said they were still investigating.

The lead-footed thugs fled in a black Mercedes-Benz sedan, which police believed to be stolen.

Police said they were looking for the driver of that car, which was allegedly seen at a Greenbank beauty parlour in Logan at about 4am.

Footage from the scene shows a silver Kia Cerato sedan, which was left at the site, covered in broken glass.

Noone has been charged and police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area with dashcam footage from Mains Rd and McCullough St between 2am and 3am this morning.
