Snake handlers were called to a Logan home after a venomous red-bellied black snake was spotted hiding in a young child’s bed.

A Jimboomba family were alarmed early on Sunday morning, June 16, when the unwelcome intruder was spotted in their daughter’s bed.

The snake was found hiding, nestled in with dolls and toys in the bed.

Bryce Lockett from Snake Catchers Brisbane & Gold Coast was called to the home to save the day.

He posted photos and video as he picked up the snake with tongs in his left hand and placing it in a large white bag before humanely removing it from the home.

Red-bellied black snakes are highly venomous.

One user commented on social media: “I am not moving to Jimboomba in a hurry”.

Another user said: “That is my worst nightmare. I’d have to move house”.
