New details have emerged in the case against a couple charged with murdering their five-week-old baby at a Logan caravan park in 2021.
Robert Alan Gee, 46, was charged with murder and had his matters mentioned in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on June 12, 2024.
Defence lawyer Zane Chapman said the matters needed to be adjourned to line up with those of his co-accused, Mr Gee’s partner Kristie Lee Wilmot, 37.
“I’m seeking to adjourn this matter to meet up with the co-accused on July 17,” he said.
“The matter is in a position to proceed by way of a 110B but we are waiting on the position of the co-accused.”
A 110B notice means witnesses would be called and the court heard counsel had been briefed.
The matter was adjourned to July 17 in Beenleigh Magistrates Court.
Mr Gee and Ms Wilmot were charged with the murder of Ms Wilmot’s five-week-old boy Michael Wilmot on June 14, 2021.
Mr Gee had no relation to the child but was caring for him at the time in a Daisy Hill caravan park.
Police alleged Mr Gee shook the baby and caused significant head trauma as well as fractures to his ribs and leg.
Police alleged the child’s mother did not act to save him or inform the authorities.
The alleged murder took place at a caravan park on Old Chatswood Rd, Daisy Hill.
