Police are seeking help for an ongoing investigation into an alleged crime spree in which more than $200,000 was stolen from a dozen homes in Logan and across Brisbane.
Detectives from the Centenary Crime Team and Bayside Property Team have charged a man, Noah Gregory Cook, with a number of property-related offences after allegedly discovering wads of cash, expensive running shoes and other items.
It would be alleged the stole car keys and a Honda Accord from an Underwood home on April 16.
Cook, 21, also allegedly stole car keys and a Volvo XC90 from a Lota home on April 17.
It would be further alleged he was linked to 12 other crime reports across the south Brisbane and Logan areas, resulting in the theft of more than $220,000 of property.
After extensive investigations, police executed a search warrant at Slacks Creek on April 25 and found several allegedly stolen property items and clothing.
The next day, police arrested Cook at a Woodridge address.
Police charged him with eight counts of enter dwelling and commit, four counts of attempted enter dwelling with intent and two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and receiving tainted property.
He was denied police bail and appeared in Richlands Magistrates Court on Monday, April 29. He was due to reappear on July 1.
Police have since found the two stolen cars allegedly used in the offences. The Honda Accord was found abandoned at a shopping centre carpark in Springwood on April 17.
The Volvo XC90 was found on Broadmore St in Kenmore Hills on April 23.
Detective Snr-Sergeant Justin Anderson, from Acacia Ridge Criminal Investigation Branch, said information from the public had helped their investigations.
“We would like to thank members of the public who came forwarded and provided information anonymously through Crimestoppers,’’ he said.
“This information proved vital for the progression of our investigation, which remains ongoing.
