Flood waters have closed off two major southside roads overnight with police and fireys in Logan diverting traffic.
Rising waters rose over New Beith Rd and Goodna Rd in Greenbank, south of Brisbane, in the early hours of the morning.
Locals reported 110mm of rain dropped in 30 minutes on the suburb after a dangerous storm around 10pm.
Police were turning away vehicles on New Beith Rd just after 3am after a number of cars were caught in the rising waters.
QFES officers were on the scene and closed a section of the road after a waters rose following a deluge just after 2am.
Motorists tried to take refuge in a service station near the closed section of road.
QFES said the New Beith Rd reopened but warned motorists in Greenbank that roads remained wet.
There were no reports of injuries.
