Jaws of life used to rescue woman after crash on busy Logan road

Fire crews have used the jaws of life to extricate a woman from a sedan after a two-car crash on one of Logan’s busiest roads on Monday afternoon.

Fire crews have used the jaws of life to extricate a woman from a sedan after a two-car crash on one of Logan’s busiest roads on Monday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Bumstead Rd at Crestmead just after 2.40pm on Monday, May 27, where a woman in her 40s was trapped in a red sedan.

Police closed of Bumstead Rd while two fire crews used hydraulic cutting gear to get inside the car to rescue the woman.

Ambulance officers treated her for head, neck and chest injuries at the scene.

Traffic has been diverted from Bumstead Rd and Julie St and police have asked motorists to try to avoid the area as peak-hour traffic started banking up outside the nearby St Francis College.
