The identity of a man allegedly busted with 2.8kg of meth, $180,000 in cash and three guns at a Logan property can be revealed.
Brett Harold Nicolson faced Beenleigh Magistrates Court while remanded in custody on June 17.
The 36-year-old Loganholme man was charged with 15 weapon and drug-related offences after an arrest in Loganholme on June 13.
Mr Nicolson’s defence lawyer Layla King asked for the matter to be adjourned to August 28 for mention.
“The matter was adjourned from Friday (June 15) to today for a potential bail application but there will be no bail application today,” Ms King said.
“I’m respectfully seeking to request a full brief of evidence and to have the matter adjourned (again).”
The court heard there would be a three-month delay on a drug analysis certificate.
A partial brief of evidence was ordered which was due by July 22.
Mr Nicholson was charged with three counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, four counts of possessing dangerous drugs and three counts of possessing property suspected of being the proceeds of an offence.
He was also charged with possessing tainted property, possessing utensils or pipes, authority required to possess explosives and possessing anything for use in the commission of crime.
Three Loganholme properties were searched as part of a drug trafficking investigation on June 13.
Police alleged they foundd three pistols and a large quantity of ammunition during the search.
Police alleged they also found $180,000 in cash and 2.8kg of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $246,000.
Detective Acting Inspector Nicola Brown said the arrest highlighted the Queensland Police Service’s commitment to cracking down on unlawful weapons and dangerous drugs.
“Police have disrupted a serious supply chain of methamphetamine that we know was being distributed across the southeast Queensland area,” she said.
“We are committed to reducing the amount of dangerous drugs in our community.”
