Emmanuel College welcomes back students

EMMANUEL College threw its students a back to school party of epic proportions – with live music, balloons and signs.

The party atmosphere was designed to make the transition back to school a smooth one and it worked a treat, with hundreds of kids beaming from ear to ear as they walked through the school gate.

Junior school chaplain Rod Newth was on bass guitar and vocals with three of his colleagues joining him at the school gate belting out tunes.

“It was louder than expected, but the kids were dancing and singing and parents were tooting their horns from the road, it was a really fun morning.”

Last week Mr Newth hosted an online disco for students and the trivia night he started online attracted 80 families.

“I just think it’s important that we keep in close contact with our kids and make their first day back a happy one because for some they’ve been away for 12 weeks, it’s the longest most would have ever had off school.”
