Topping the list of 46 suburbs was Elanora with 77 sightings, followed by Burleigh Heads on 58 and Tallebudgera on 57.

Other high-placed suburbs include Clagiraba, Helensvale and Bonogin.

The suburbs with the fewest sightings were Palm Beach, Burleigh Waters, Biggera Waters and Gaven.

It comes just a month after a koala nicknamed Gruff wandered into a woman’s home in Tallebudgera Valley.

The koala had a sore eye and was taken away for treatment.

Currumbin Sanctuary treats around 100 koalas each year which are hit by vehicles on the Gold Coast and in northern NSW.
