WITH a cup of grit and a tablespoon of grace, mini Gold Coast chef Laura is preparing to make her mark on national television.
The 13-year-old from the Gold Coast Hinterland will compete against 14 aspiring young cooks, aged nine to 14, on Network 10s Junior MasterChef from October 11.
Laura said she started cooking brownies with her mum when she was three-years-old and, ever since, had dreamt of auditioning for MasterChef.
“It’s always been a dream of mine and it’s a wonderful opportunity to prepare me for a great future in hospitality,” she said.
“I am excited to learn and make friends. When I am older, I plan to grow my own produce and open a restaurant on the Gold Coast.”
Almost 2,000 kids from around Australia applied to compete on the reality show for a chance to win $25,000 in prize money.
Just like 2020s MasterChef winner Emelia Jackson, Laura hopes to cook a plethora of perfect choux pastry and maybe even a classic French croquembouche for judges Jock Zonfrillo, Melissa Leong and Andy Allen.
