A WORKER has been seriously injured in an explosion on the Gold Coast.
About noon paramedics responded to reports of a gas bottle explosion at a workplace in Southport.
The patient suffered facial and arm burns, and was assessed at the scene before being taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
The high acuity response team was on board for transport to hospital.
