Jetski riders have come to the rescue helping to put out a fire after a Gold Coast houseboat caught alight, sending black smoke billowing from the vessel.
The houseboat was moored across from the Grand Hotel on Marine Parade in Labrador, with the fire breaking out at 1.20pm.
Kyle Annable and his two mates, Lockie Maumatulis and Jye Thomson quickly hopped on their jetskis when the fire began.
“My missues pointed the boat out to us and so me and the boys started spraying it (with our jetskis),” he said.
“It was our first time putting out a houseboat fire.”
The jetski riders and boaties circled the houseboat until firefighters arrived, flicking water up onto the burning vessel.
Mr Annable said they used the jetski spray to water down the fire, which he said was usually illegal to do.

Thick, black smoke was billowing out of the houseboat before it changed to white smoke, he said.
Soon after, two Queensland Fire and Emergency Services crews used water police boats to get to the houseboat.
Hans Hanser from Jimboomba was with his family on the foreshore when the blaze broke out.
“The fire lasted around 20 minutes, the flames were coming out of the top and it began billowing smoke,” he said.
“The flames were pretty high then the roof collapsed and you could hear the windows smashing.”
Firefighters put out the remnants of the fire, which was extinguished just before 2pm.
The houseboat has been towed to shore.
Smoke can be smelt around the Southport and Labrador areas.
No one was believed to be on board at the time.
Police and paramedics are also on scene.
Meanwhile, there is also a grassfire burning on the eastern side of Seaworld Drive in Main Beach.
Firefighters are in attendance.
