IF you’re hoping for a return of glorious Gold Coast winter sunshine over the weekend, the news is like the weather itself - mixed.

The weather bureau is predicting a high chance of rain tomorrow, but the sky will clear in time for a “cool change” on Sunday afternoon.

Bureau of Meteorology forecaster Peter Markworth said over the next few days the city would be hit with light coastal showers.

“The Coast will get around one to two millimetres of rain in the mornings,” he said.

“Below average temperatures will hit the Coast on Sunday afternoon with overnight temperatures dipping below 9C.”
