A 28-year-old man has died in hospital 11 days after crashing his motorbike at an M1 exit on the Gold Coast.

A 28-year-old man has died in hospital 11 days after crashing his motorbike at an M1 exit.

The man was riding his motorbike south on the Pacific Motorway at about 3.50pm on Saturday, April 17 when he lost control on a bend at exit 69, hitting a guard rail.

The 28-year-old Harristown man sustained critical head injuries and was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.

He passed away this morning.

Police closed the Exit 69 off-ramp for three hours following the accident.

Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit officers are continuing.
