Gold Coast traffic: Woman becomes trapped in vehicle after Nerang bus and car crash

A woman is in a serious condition after being trapped in her car in a vehicle and bus crash, while another man has suffered serious leg injuries after an M1 motorbike crash.

A WOMAN is in a serious condition after being trapped in her car in a vehicle and bus crash at Nerang on Thursday night.

Emergency services were called to the Ferry Street and Nerang Street incident after reports of a vehicle and bus colliding at 7.15pm. 

Paramedics including critical care and the High Acuity Response Unit were also on scene to assess a total of six patients, five of which declined transport to hospital. 

A woman in her 20s was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital, having initially been "encapsulated" in her vehicle. 

Later that night a man in his 40s was taken to GCUH in a serious but stable condition after a Mudgeeraba motorbike crash. 

The man was travelling on the M1 northbound when the incident occurred around 11pm. A critical care paramedic was on board for transport. 

Also overnight, another man was taken to GCUH having suffered burns to his upper limbs and face after a gas bottle reportedly exploded in his Labrador home. 

He was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition just before 6.10pm.
