GOLD Coast music star Amy Shark admits being in shock at a serious “invasion of our private space” after stowaways broke into her European tour bus.
The singer yesterday revealed two people were found hiding in the luggage compartment as the bus – adorned with her name and face – was UK-bound.
Speaking to the Bulletin after what she described as a “scary” incident, Shark said she had no idea whether they got on her bus at Amsterdam, or Brussels, where she had just performed, or in between.
“We found them in the bus when leaving Brussels to head to the UK.
“My crew went into the luggage to get merchandise for the show and noticed the lock was broken. We got the driver who had to open the lock with pliers and he then discovered them hiding,” she said.
The multi-Aria Award winner added the freeloaders did not have access to her living area on the double decker tour bus.

“No threats, they didn’t say a word. Just got their bag and walked out.
“It’s been on my mind constantly, I wasn’t angry at them, I’m just in shock and probably a little naive.
“Not for a minute did it cross my mind anyone would try that.
“We’re all good (but) it scared me. It’s an invasion of our private space but thankfully we found them before we got to the border,” she said, having tweeted that it seemed they were trying to “sneak across”.
But she added she also had sympathy for their situation: “People do dangerous things to get a better life somewhere else. I feel for them but it definitely still gave my team a shock and a fright.”
Hours before the stowaways were discovered Shark was celebrating her track I Said Hi being voted number five on the Triple J Hottest 100 countdown.
“I’m crying on the side of the road somewhere between Amsterdam and Brussels. Thank you to everyone who voted. I love you and thanks to @triplej for making my dreams come true! ... again,” she tweeted at the time.
“This is insane. I’ve had two top five finishes in the #Hottest100 in the last three years. Adore and I Said Hi have changed my life. Four years ago being a part of the countdown was a dream. Remember, I’m just like you, I love music and I love Triple J. Thank you for listening.”
She plays a London show tomorrow.
