Gold Coast Show: Complete showbags guide

There’s everything from the classic Bertie Beetle to Brooklyn 99 must-have merch. With more variety than ever before, there’s something for everyone at this week’s Gold Coast Show.

The Gold Coast Show is back at Broadwater Parklands with hundreds of showbags up for grabs.

Seven semi-trailers full of showbags are set to roll onto the showgrounds by Friday stocked with fan favourites like Bertie Beetle and Cadbury Favourites.

But with a wider range of bags than ever before, Showbags Australia owner Belinda Whitby says there’s something for everyone at this year’s Gold Coast Show.

“Of course we’ve got Bertie Beetle, but we also have KitKat, Smarties, Cadbury Favourites, Cherry Ripe and even Licorice bags,” Ms Whitby said.

“Our Warheads, Zappo and Trolli bags are also really popular with the children.”

But if candy doesn’t do it for your kids, Ms Whitby said a wide selection of TV show and movie merch is also up for grabs.

“Pokemon, Harry Potter and Bluey have been really popular since we first started selling them,” she said.

“The Miraculous Ladybug bags are also really popular with the girls.

“But by far, our two bestsellers are our Minecraft and Frozen bags.”

But the fun isn’t limited to kids only, Ms Whitby said, with the recent expansion meaning there are more bags available for adults to enjoy as well.

“Of course, showbags aren’t just for kids and we’ve seen that our Brooklyn 99, Seinfeld, Friends and Fast and Furious bags are popular with our older buyers,” Ms Whitby noted.

“Surprisingly, Sonic bags have been popular too which was a little unexpected.”

Ms Whitby, who is the newest owner of Showbags Australia (formerly Showtime Showbags), said after having successfully supplied bags for the Ekka, Queensland’s largest annual agriculture show, she was hoping to sell out at the upcoming Gold Coast Show.

“This is the biggest variety of showbags we’ve ever had for the show and we really want to cater to everyone this year,” she said.

“We’ve got seven trucks coming down to the show, which will make sure no one is lining up for too long.”

“We’re really hoping to sell out this year – the weather will be so lovely and this is my first time coming down for the show.”
