Gold Coast mum Amber Bostock says lockdowns with a newborn is difficult but it isn’t stopping 16-month-old Rose Bostock from enjoying her outings.
Rose was named cheekiest bub on the Coast in a Bulletin competition and Ms Bostock said it was because of her ‘bubbly’ spirit.
“Rose being the only girl and youngest of course makes her a little princess,” she said.
“She is such a happy, bubbly little extrovert.
“If Rose doesn't want something or wants you to do something she waves her finger at you. It’s very cute,” Ms Bostock said.
She said while being her first Covid baby, they are getting used to lockdowns and making the most of time outside.
“We are doing really well considering lockdowns,” Ms Bostock said.
“Rose loves all things beach and water.
“She attends kindy full time and loves to be social.”
THE EYES HAVE IT: ‘CHIRPY’ CHARLIE SCOOPS BIGGEST EYES AWARD
ALONG with a cheeky personality, eight-month-old Charlie Fisher officially has the biggest eyes on the Coast.
After finding out her son won the Biggest Eyes category in the Gold Coast Bulletin’s cutest bub competition, mother Brianna Toni said the best way to describe Charlie was his big personality and loving characteristics.
“I don’t know if I have an eight-month-year-old baby or eight-month little bird in the house,” she said.
“He chirps like a bird all day long and at very inconvenient hours of the morning.”
Ms Toni said she had a difficult pregnancy, “I vomited the whole way through but it was worth it”.
“Charlie was my first and my husband and I are just so in love with him. Everything he does we think is amazing.
“We definitely have our moments and days where it is tough but it is all a part of the journey,” Toni said.
The past month the Bulletin has showcased the Gold Coast’s cutest bubs, with voting across five categories. The winners of the remaining categories will be announced in the coming days. The overall winner will be named next week.
CUTEST SMILE WINNER: ‘FIRST CUDDLE WAS INDESCRIBABLE’
GOLD Coast mum Taylor McKinley and five-month old daughter Ava Mia Richards have been through a lot – but they’re still smiling.
And now baby Ava’s smile has been judged the cutest on the Coast.
“You can’t wipe the smile off of her face,” Ms McKinley said, adding her pregnancy was difficult but she was delighted to welcome her first born on April Fools’ Day, 2021.
“I had a very rough pregnancy suffering with extreme Hypermesis Gravidarum, and towards the end of my pregnancy I also suffered from Pre eclampsia,” she said.
Hypermesis Gravidarum is severe morning sickness with nausea and vomiting. Pre eclampsia can be serious and involves high blood pressure.
On top of that, Ms McKinley notes: “Ava came out with her cord wrapped around her neck four times which was very scary. Once she was free she was a happy and healthy baby.
“That first cuddle was indescribable.”
Ava giggled at the slightest things and never failed to light up a room, she said.
“As my first, I could not have asked for a more amazing bub. She smiles through her beautiful bright blue eyes.
“Ava is very cheeky and thinks it’s hilarious to giggle after every spoonful of food,” she said.
More cutest bub competition winners will be revealed each day this week.
