The fire was doused before it could cause extensive damage, Maritimo confirmed.
“A small fire that ignited in one of the fibreglassing sheds at luxury boat manufacturer Maritimo’s Coomera plant this afternoon was brought under control quickly and with minimal damage,” a statement read.
Maritimo general manager (operations) Phil Candler said workers quickly noticed the fire and protocols put in place to deal with fires kicked in immediately.
Staff members attempted to fight the fire and contacted authorities.
“The fire brigade attended quickly, the staff acted appropriately and the fire was brought under control quickly,” Mr Candler said
“No boats were damaged.”
Seven firefighting crews were called to the scene and the fire in the property was extinguished by 2.50pm.
Occupants had already evacuated by the time crews arrived.
Firefighters were still on scene ventilating the premises at 3.20pm.
It’s not yet known what caused the blaze in the building and QFES fire investigators have been tasked to attend.
Plumes of smoke were seen rising from the building before firefighters arrived.
Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics attended, but no one required treatment.
Multiple Queensland Police officers were also called to the fire about 2.15pm.
