A POPULAR breakfast TV show has had to go to air without a host after a surf stunt went wrong on the Gold Coast.

The Today Show went ahead on Friday morning on the Gold Coast without host Allison Langdon, who injured herself in a stunt on Thursday afternoon.

The morning TV show moved its set to the city, filming live from Burleigh Heads, but Langdon didn’t join the rest of the crew following the incident.

She injured her knee and spent the night in hospital after a segment for the show went wrong that involved the hosts riding hydrofoils in Surfers Paradise waters.

Co-host Karl Stefanovic confirmed Langdon is OK to viewers on Friday morning following the incident.

“She hurt herself really badly, she’s in hospital this morning. She’s OK,” Stefanovic said.

This is the first time hosts Stefanovic and Allison Langdon have travelled together since taking over hosting duties and the pair told The Bulletin yesterday they were looking forward to making the most of their short time on the Gold Coast.

“This is the first time Ally and I have been on tour together, so I’m going to show her the local sights and sounds, along with some watering holes,” Stefanovic said.

“We had a little bit of banter with the Queensland Premier throughout last year.

“I had a massive go at her when she closed the borders initially and then spent my time sucking up to her for the rest of the year, so to make good I’m trying to get people back to Queensland.”

Langdon said there’s nowhere better on the planet.

“I have family up here and have had holidays at Burleigh Heads every Christmas since I was a little kid,” she said.
