FIREFIGHTERS worked for 45 minutes to free a woman trapped in her car after crashing down an embankment on the M1 at Varsity Lakes just after 6pm.
Paramedics have taken the 45-year-old in a stable condition to Gold Coast University Hospital after firefighters were forced to cut the door off her car.
The woman is being treated for neck and shoulder pain.
The crash comes after steady rain throughout the afternoon has soaked roads across the Coast.
