General Manager Nicci Wilson said the 40th edition of the event would have about 450 sections from July 28 to September 11.
“It’s been a tough two years for the eisteddfod. First it was cancelled in 2020 and last year we weren’t able to have some sections because of Covid,” she said.
“This year we’ll see our larger sections like schools, bands and choirs return.
“We will have many age groups and different performers on new and old stages, starting with young people with disabilities.”
The eisteddfod started in 1982 at the Gold Coast Tropicarnival Festival and is the only event left from the festival.
Four decades on and hundreds of thousands of performers later, the eisteddfod will celebrate its roots with a retro logo based on the Gold Coast Tropicarnival Festival.
